Payment Policy
On this page
Kirnia is operated by Klevo LLC, a Missouri limited liability company. Payment is taken through Shopify’s secure checkout — we never see or store your full card number, because it goes directly to the payment processor over an encrypted connection.
This page covers the practical side of paying. The binding terms are in our Terms of Service, and what we do with transaction data is in the Privacy Policy.
What we accept
- Credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and JCB.
- Digital wallets — Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Kirnia gift cards, where issued.
The methods available to you are shown at checkout and depend on your device, browser and card issuer. If one you expect is missing, it is almost always because your browser or card does not support it.
Currency
All prices are shown and charged in US dollars (USD). We sell within the United States only. If your card is denominated in another currency, your bank converts the amount at its own rate and may add a foreign transaction fee — that conversion is between you and your bank, and we only ever see the USD total.
When you are charged
Your payment method is authorised when you place your order, and payment is collected shortly afterwards.
Seeing two charges? One is almost certainly a pending authorisation rather than a second payment. Authorisations drop off on their own, usually within 3 to 5 business days. If both have actually settled, email us and we will refund the duplicate the same day.
Sales tax
Sales tax is calculated at checkout from your shipping address and the rules of that state and locality. The exact amount appears in the order summary before you pay, and again on your receipt. Where a state does not require us to collect sales tax, none is added.
If a payment is declined
We never receive the reason for a decline — only that it happened. The common causes, in rough order of frequency:
- The billing address entered does not match the one your bank holds for the card.
- The CVC or expiry date has a typo.
- Your bank’s fraud system flagged an unfamiliar merchant.
- Insufficient available balance, including a hold from an earlier authorisation.
- The card does not permit online transactions.
Check the billing address first, then try a different card or a digital wallet. If it keeps failing, your bank can tell you why in about a minute — we cannot.
Order verification
Orders are screened automatically for signs of fraud. Occasionally we may hold an order and ask you to confirm your identity or billing details before we ship. If we cannot verify an order, we cancel it and refund in full. This protects you as much as it protects us.
Pricing errors
We work hard to keep prices accurate, but errors happen. Where an item is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than fulfil it. We will always contact you first and give you the option to reorder at the correct price.
Discount codes
One discount code per order unless a promotion explicitly says otherwise. Codes must be entered at checkout — we cannot apply one retrospectively to an order already placed. Codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for store credit.
Chargebacks
If something has gone wrong, please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank. Almost every dispute we see — a parcel that has not arrived, an item that is not right, a charge you do not recognise — is resolved faster by email than through the card networks, which can take up to 90 days.
Email support@kirnia.com and we will look at it the same day.
Security
Checkout runs over TLS encryption and is PCI DSS compliant. Card details are tokenised by the payment processor, which means we store a reference to your payment method rather than the method itself.
We will never ask for your full card number, card security code or account password by email, phone, text message or social media. Treat any message that does as fraudulent.
Refunds
Refunds always go back to the original payment method — we cannot redirect one to a different card or to a bank account. Timings and conditions are in the Refund Policy.
